Robert Waters Obituary

Robert A. Waters, 86, of Carbondale, died Monday April 15th at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center, Honesdale after an illness.  He is survived by his wife, the former Alice Rusalavitch; the couple had been married for 60 years.

Born in Carbondale, son of the late Claude and Mary Terpak Waters, he was a member of Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale.  He was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Class of 1956.  He was a veteran of the Pennsylvania National Guard, the US Marine Corps Reserves, and the United States Coast Guard.  Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a machinist at Chamberlain Manufacturing, Scranton, for 35 years.  After retirement, he became the self-appointed foreman of Enterprise Machine.  Bob was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 329, Carbondale.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved being in the outdoors with his two sons and grandsons; and he was a member of the Carbondale Township Hunting Club.  He enjoyed attending his grandsons’ activities, especially their baseball games, from T-Ball to Little League to Teener to Legion to High School.  Bob also liked to go to the casino with his wife; he also enjoyed his Rolling Rock and a good glass of scotch.  For those who knew Bob, they know how much he will be missed by his good friend Colonel Sanders.  His favorite saying was “Don’t Get Old”

The family would like to send a special thank you to all of the staff at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center and Hospice for the wonderful care Bob received during his time there; it really meant a lot to the entire Waters Family.

Surviving are two sons: Gary Waters and fiancée Gina Barbaro, Carbondale and their daughter Kristi Stoklosa and husband James and granddaughter Sadie, Waymart; Jeffrey Waters and wife Christina, and their sons: Robert Joseph Waters and Ryan Thomas Waters, Crystal Lake; a niece: Donna Hostler; and a nephew: Raymond Rusalavitch.
